TAL and Passerby are performing this Sunday at Wicker Park’s lounge, Rodan, in Chicago. It’s free and sure to be a great time. Incidentally, they do this at least once per month so be sure to check in from time to time.
Last year l’éternèbre performed an improvised set at Saki, an amazing record shop in Logan Square, Chicago. Sarah Zucker provided visuals as well. While we weren’t able to get video, the performance was recorded and as the debut for #ScreamingClaws, we couldn’t be happier.
On a warm summer’s afternoon, weaving through the mad rush of a beautiful Chicago day, we find three people guided by the yellow hiss of the breeze. Exchanging ideas, building on sounds and creating a tapestry of delicate noise. l’éternèbre are constantly jumping off the cliff and landing in neon marshmallows.
Natalie Chami - Synthesizer, Vocals and Electronics, Nicholas Davis - Electronics, Guitar and Chants; Brian Griffith — Bass and Electronics.

This week’s Screaming Sessions is from several months back and takes the form of a video. Shot in Chicago at the Archer Ballroom, Natalie Chami (TAL) on the synths and Drone Commander, Nicholas Davis (Passerby) on the air duct and harnessing the sound, and Brian Griffith (greyghost) on the bass and electronics. This was an improvised set during a fairly sweltering July afternoon.
This week’s sessions features two LA musicians, loop goat and greyghost. loop goat is the endless cycle of sound, the pulse you hear at night as the amorphous black and white amoebas explode and dissolve behind your eyelids. greyghost is one of the artists behind ScreamingClaws.
The recommended environmental pairing is on a patio/porch during a gray day, slowly watching the droplets and the clouds engulf the world.
This week’s Sessions features two Chicago artists, TAL and Charles Mantis. As usual, TAL is transporting you to a synth cocoon and gently outside the walls Charles Mantis is cradling, with arms of bass and strange birds.
The environmental pairing is an electric night under the stars or a celebratory night on the town.

Long and deep, this one is pretty great. It’s good for sonic meditation and reflecting on the stillness. #ScreamingClaws
It’s solo bass using a few pedals a loop station.

Screaming Sessions this week features two LA based artists. Spencer Salmon is a guitarist who creates lush walls of bliss spiraling around time. grey ghost(aka Brian Griffith) is a bassist and founding member of Screaming Claws who explores stillness and the experience of being. Together they form Grey Brady, gently filling pools with sonic gelatin.
Recommended Environments: a crispy day outside, during the afternoon by a pool or lake; or a warm, breezy night overlooking the city (deck, cliff, roof, any place high).

This week’s Session features TAL once more commanding her drones and synths, with Anthony Bruno on the sax. This lovely set of tunes is comforting, like floating on an inner tube, down a river on a warm summer day.
The environmental pairing is your morning coffee/tea spot (where ever you ease into your day); or stargazing at the top of a hill or other lage structure.
Taken last year, l’éternèbre performed for a benefit in Chicago’s Wicker Park neighborhood at the enigmatic and nomadic event space, MultiKulti. This lovely video is for Sweedish Forest Castle and was shot by Ted Tremper

Screaming Claws is proud to present the first in a series. Sessions plans to release one improvised set per week, showcasing our incidental artists creating with others. This week we see TAL and Passerby. In this installment we find TAL on her tower of analog synths and Passerby immersed in his sea of feedback-sculpting pedals and prepared guitar.
This is truly an amazing set and it is recommended and encouraged that you listen to this in its entirety. Either the roof of a tall, urban building at either dawn or dusk; or a hillside in the country under a tree are the suggested environments for listening.
